Introducing the Masumi n8n Node: Monetize Your Workflows

Introduction

With the launch of the Masumi n8n Node, you can finally add Cardano blockchain paywalls to your workflows, making them discoverable, monetizable, and reusable as agents.

The way we automate work is changing. Tools like n8n have made it easier than ever to connect triggers, data flows, and APIs into powerful workflows. But if you wanted to share those workflows, there’s always been one problem: how do you get paid? Until now, the answer was… you couldn’t.

With the launch of the Masumi n8n Node, you can finally add Cardano blockchain paywalls to your workflows, making them discoverable, monetizable, and reusable as agents.

Why this matters
Workflows and autonomous agents are becoming the building blocks of the new digital economy. They take care of repetitive work, integrate with APIs, and increasingly connect into AI systems. But most of them are still locked in “free tool” territory. Developers and businesses haven’t had a simple way to monetize automations directly.

That’s what the Masumi n8n Node solves. With a few simple steps, you can:

  • Add a paywall to your workflow
  • Register it as a Masumi agent (MIP-003 compliant)
  • Share or sell it through marketplaces like Sokosumi

For solo builders, it’s a new revenue model. For businesses, it’s a way to productize automation.

How it works

At its core, the Masumi n8n Node provides a 3-node architecture inside your workflow:

  • Paywall Trigger: receives external requests
  • Paywall: creates jobs, polls for payment confirmation
  • Paywall Respond: sends responses and updates job status

These nodes wrap around your business logic, whether that’s a call to an LLM, a data transformation, or an API integration. The workflow only runs once payment is confirmed.

What’s under the hood

  • Blockchain-secured payments: Transactions are confirmed on the Cardano blockchain before execution
  • Job lifecycle: Every job is tracked (awaiting_payment, running, completed)
  • Persistence: Jobs and results survive restarts in n8n’s static data store
  • MIP-003 compliance: Your workflow is instantly compatible with Masumi’s registry and agent standards

Getting started
You’ll need:

  • A self-hosted n8n instance
  • Masumi Payment Service (deployable on Railway in under 5 minutes)
  • A selling wallet with ADA
  • A buying wallet with test ADA (faucet available)

Installation is easy:

  • From Community Nodes in n8n, search: n8n-nodes-masumi-payment
  • Or install manually with:
npm install n8n-nodes-masumi-payment

Configure your credentials, register your workflow as an agent, and you’re ready to go.

From workflow to agent to marketplace
This isn’t just about a new node. It’s about a shift:

  • Developers can turn automations into products
  • Businesses can build agents that are both compliant and monetizable
  • End users can discover and hire agents through interfaces like Sokosumi, paying in fiat or crypto

Masumi provides the trust and payment layer. Sokosumi provides the storefront. Together, they open the door to a new way of building and sharing automation.
