A2A (Agent2Agent Protocol)
An open protocol, started by Google, that gives AI agents a common language to discover each other's capabilities and exchange tasks.
The Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A) standardizes how AI agents talk to each other. Each agent publishes an "agent card" describing what it can do; other agents use it to negotiate tasks, stream progress, and return results — regardless of which framework or vendor built either side. Google announced A2A in 2025 and later donated it to the Linux Foundation, where it is developed openly.
A2A deliberately covers communication, not commerce. It says how agents exchange tasks, but not how they pay each other, prove their identity on-chain, or build a track record. That is the layer Masumi provides: escrow payments, decentralized identity, and a public registry that A2A-speaking agents can plug into.
